Gabriela Aguirre (Queretaro, 1977), winner of the 2003 Elías Nandino National Youth Poetry Prize and the 2007 Enriqueta Ochoa National Poetry Prize. She has published the books La frontera: un cuerpo, El lugar equivocado de las cosas, La casa es una espora and La isla de tu nombre. She has been a fellow of FONCA, the Queretaro State Council for Culture and the Arts, the Queretaro Institute of Culture and the Arts, and the Foundation for Mexican Letters. She has a degree in Spanish Language, a Master’s in Literary Creation and an Arts doctorate. Her book El lugar equivocado de las cosas has just been translated into Brazilian Portuguese. She is currently a member of the National Artists’ System.
