Amin Maalouf, born in Lebanon in 1949, is one of the most brilliant and perceptive writers of modern French letters. Novelist, journalist, essayist and member of the Académie française, all of his work, translated into more than forty languages, is published in Spanish by Alianza. Among the many awards he has received, the most notable are the Goncourt Prize for The Rock of Tanios, and the Aujourd'hui Prize 2019 in the Geopolitics category for Le naufrage des civilisations; as well as the 2010 Prince of Asturias Award in recognition of his career and his work strengthening ties between East and West.
