Rocío Benítez is a Queretaro writer, poet and cultural journalist. She is the author of the poetry books Entre Darwin y Guadalupe (winner of the 2007 Querétaro Short Story and Poetry Competition) and Muina (Herring Publishers, 2015). Writing under the pseudonym Tolvarena, she won the first Minerva Margarita Villarreal Ibero-American Prize for her book Donde una vez tus ojos, ahora crecen orquídeas (UANL, 2021).
