Víctor Hurtado (Mexico, 1974) began working as a literary agent when he moved to Barcelona in 2006. In 2014 he founded the VicLit Agency with the goal of discovering and promoting Latin American writers around the world. The authors he represents include Giuseppe Caputo, Fernanda Trías, Claudia Ulloa Donoso, and also Carmen Boullosa, Daniel Sada and David Toscana. Hurtado has been responsible for professionals at the Guadalajara Book Fair (2012-2016) and is one of the founders of the Salón de Derechos, which has advised the Uruguay Department of Culture on the founding and development of its Books From Uruguay initiative, and has also advised various book fairs. As well as participating regularly at the Frankfurt, London and Guadalajara fairs, Hurtado has also been to the book fairs in Bogota, Buenos Aires, US (ALA and BEA), Lisbon, Jerusalem, Paris, Sharjah, Taipei, Turin and more. In several of these countries, and some more besides, he has given workshops, seminars and lectures on the world of books and copyright.
