Johana Bahamón is an actor and entrepreneur and is the Chief Executive of the Acción Interna Foundation. She studied Business Administration at the Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración and took courses and workshops in acting in Bogota and New York. In the year 2000 she began her acting career; after taking part in around 15 productions she left acting to start working in the prisons of Colombia. Her work on the resocialization and humanization of the prison system began in 2012, when she created a theatre group at the El Buen Pastor women’s penitentiary centre in Bogota. So far she has worked in 31 Colombian prisons, and her programmes have benefitted over 30,000 people in detention. She is the author of Historias privadas de libertad (2020).
