The Argentinean journalists Federico Bianchini and Ernesto Picco were the recipients of the Michael Jacobs Travel Writing Grant in 2016 and 2019, respectively. This award has been granted by the Gabo Foundation and the Hay Festival since 2014, after the death of the renowned travel writer Michael Jacobs. Federico Bianchini has contributed to media outlets such as Clarín, La Razón, Gatopardo, Letras Libres, Etiqueta Negra and Courrier International, and is the author of the outstanding book Antártida (2016), a testimony of a journey that he made to one of the 13 Argentinean bases in the Antarctic. Ernesto Picco has a doctorate in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, lectures at the Santiago del Estero National University and has contributed to publications including Crisis, Anfibia, Tucumán Zeta and Subida de Línea. As an independent writer, he has written about Cuba, the Dominican Republic and the Falkland Islands. Both will talk about the profession of wandering journalist with Jorge Turpo, an RPP reporter.
