Partha Dasgupta’s landmark report last year on the economics of biodiversity was commissioned by HM Treasury, and was the first such report in the world to put economic value on the services that nature provides us – from clear air, healthy soil and drinking water. He is Frank Ramsey Professor Emeritus at University of Cambridge and focuses his research on welfare and development economics, and environmental and resource economics. Ecologist Brigitte Baptiste is an authority on the management and care of Colombia’s biodiversity and Rector of Ean University in Bogotá, Colombia.
