We bid farewell to the festival with an event that celebrates the rich Colombian musical tradition, with those who know and play its melodies. Spanish poets invented ten-verse poems in the 16th century and, soon after, la décima arrived in America. It disappeared from Spain, but here it became a rich and popular poetic form. The 2022 Hay Festival Cartagena will recreate the history and art of la décimawith three great contemporary repentistas: the Cuban Alexis Díaz Pimienta and the Colombians Alfredo Martelo Escobar y Rafael Pérez García.
