Disinformation has a great present and future in the era of social media and digital platforms, thus posing countless challenges, especially in electoral contexts where organized disinformation exerts a polarizing force, thus affecting the functioning of democracy in Latin America. A great challenge for journalism, which in turn must face its own battle for survival, regaining the trust of audiences and finding business models that guarantee its future without compromising its ethics and independence.
