Andri Snaer Magnason (Iceland) is an important voice in literature for children and young adults in his country, as well as a film director and winner of a number of major literary awards, including the 2013 Philip K. Dick Award and the Italian Tiziano Terzani Prize, in 2021. He has been vice-chair of the Icelandic writers’ union and has even been a presidential candidate for his country. His latest book, On Time and Water, a publishing success in several countries, is a skilfully written and fascinating reflection on the climate emergency, a work that is based on the judgement of authorities on climate change yet also deals with areas such as mythology and the family. This work of literary non-fiction is a call to responsibility, asking humans to conserve our home, this planet. He will talk about these crucial matters with Juan Camilo Maldonado Tovar.
