The work of the Spanish writer, Javier Cercas, has been translated into over 30 languages. His work includes novels, short stories, non-fiction and mixtures of these formats, as well as many translations from authors such as H. G. Wells and Quim Monzó. He has won literary prizes in Italy, France, Chile, the United Kingdom and Spain. His latest novel is Terra Alta, whose protagonist is Melchor Marín, a young police officer who is given the case of the terrible torture and murder of three businessmen in the Terra Alta district.
