The work of the Spanish writer Javier Cercas has been translated into over thirty languages. His bibliography includes novels and essays and various mixtures of the two, as well as many translations of authors such as H.G. Wells and Quim Monzó. He has won awards in Italy, France, Chile, the United Kingdom and Spain. His latest novel, Terra Alta, features Melchor Marín, a young police officer who is sent to solve the case of the torture and murder of three businessmen in the Terra Alta district.
