Juan Cárdenas has recently published Elástico de sombra, a novel about a group of practitioners of an ancient Afro-Colombian martial art who are in search of the “games of shadows” combat techniques that have been practically forgotten, especially the legendary art of the “shadow elastic”, which allows the person who masters it to fight in total darkness. The Bolivian author Rodrigo Hasbún has recently published Los años invisibles, a novel set in Cochabamba in the 1990s and present day Houston. A group of teenagers are experiencing a turbulent final year of school, with one involved in several affairs, including one with a teacher twice his age. Twenty years later, a friend from this group decides to tell these stories. Hasbún has lived in Chile, did postgraduate studies in Barcelona and took a doctorate at Cornell University in the United States. They will talk to Inés Martín Rodrigo.
