The poet, novelist, essayist and documentary-maker Dionne Brand (Trinidad and Tobago-Canada) won the Toronto Book Award for her novel Theory (2019). The book by Maribel Abello Banfi, Hasta ahora te creo, is a gripping book telling a number of stories of women oppressed by the patriarchal structure of the Colombian Caribbean.
