The award-winning poet, non-fiction writer and novelist William Ospina has doctorates from three universities: the Autónoma Latinoamericana in Medellin, Tolima University and the University of Santiago de Cali. His sixth novel, Guayacanal (2019), tells the story of his great-grandparents and grandparents, set on the family farm which gives its name to the book. Among the magic of music and horrors of war, Ospina covers the history of the conquest and colonial period, as well as the early 20th century in a country of exuberant vitality that has never escaped from violence. He will talk to Sandra Borda.
