For this closing event, we leave aside the accordion and take up the harp: from the other side of the country, llanera music comes to the Hay. Llanero folk culture is basically an amalgam, with characteristics from the culture of Spain and that of America, cultures that began to interact in the 16th century with the first encounters between missionaries and indigenous people. During the colonial period a strong influence came from Venezuela, with the appearance of African characteristics such as the distinctive syncopated rhythm of joropo music. Daniel Samper will talk to one of the great representatives of this kind of music, Walter Silva, and the conversation will be followed by a concert.
