The new radical right. Farid Kahhat and Naiara Galarraga in conversation with Gerardo Lissardy

Arequipa 2019,

The startling rise of far right parties and movements promoting racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia are making use of new social and political scenarios to spread panic in society. The international analyst Farid Kahhat, a Peruvian of Palestinean origin, is an expert on matters of international security, international relations, the Middle East and public opinion. He is the author of El eterno retorno, a book that sheds light on the radical right in the contemporary world. Naiara Galarraga has been an El País journalist since 1996. She has reported from places as varied as the Philippines, North Korea, Norway, Sweden and Guatemala; has been based in the Basque Country and Madrid; has worked as a correspondent for El País in Mexico, for the channels Cuatro and CNN+ in Jerusalem and currently works for El País in Brazil. Since 2014 she has edited the newspaper’s international section. They will talk to Gerardo Lissardy about the complex social and political realities that can be found on different fronts.
