El incendio de la mina El Bordo (2018) is the most recent book by the writer, publisher and university lecturer Yuri Herrera. In this book, the author carefully reconstructs the story that began on 10th March 1920, when a mine in Hidalgo was evacuated because of a fire; the authorities – doctors and representatives of the mining company – stated that ten people had died. After a week, the mine was opened again, revealing 87 bodies and 10 survivors. Yuri Herrera will talk to journalist Javier Lafuente about investigating an event that occurred almost a hundred years ago, but which has a striking contemporary relevance.
