Eva Baltasar and Alejandra Costamagna in conversation with Guillermo Núñez

Querétaro 2019,

Permafrost (2018), by Spanish author Eva Baltasar, tells the story of a young woman who lives between disillusionment with the superficiality of modern life, bordering on suicidal thoughts, and an uninhibited surrender to sensual pleasures: sex, literature and art. In Alejandra Costamagna's En El sistema del tacto ('The Touch System', Chile, 2018), the protagonist, Ania, travels to the other side of the Andes mountain range to visit a dying relative. In addition to the theme of encounters with family and the past, the novel explores ideas such as dispossession and belonging. They talk with Guillermo Núñez.
