Conference by Shirin Ebadi

Freedom and human rights.

Cartagena 2019,

The first Muslim woman and first Iranian citizen to receive the Nobel Peace Prize (2003) is a lawyer who, at age 23, also became one of the first women judges of the country, and at age 30, one of the first magistrates in Teheran. Currently exiled in London (UK), she continues to work for human rights and democracy, carrying the message she expresses in her autobiography, Until We Are Free, to every place she visits. From her own experience, far away from her country, but with Iran always in her words, Shirin Ebadi will speak about the value of freedom and the importance of fighting for rights.
