The Colombian author Juan Gabriel Vásquez, recently awarded with the Order of Isabella the Catholic, winner of the Alfaguara prize and other awards, is the author of several books translated into English, French and Italian. He presents Canciones para el incendio, a short story collection in which the main characters of the nine stories included have been affected by violence in its multitude of forms.
