César Pagano is an award-winning writer, journalist, researcher, melomaniac and lover of Cuba, which he has visited 42 times. He has been a founder of the famous bar El Goce Pagano in Bogotá, radio presenter for over a quarter of a century of the radio show Conversación en tiempo de bolero and has written for magazines such as Semana, Cromos and Soho, and the newspapers El Tiempo, El Espectador, El Colombiano, El Heraldo, El País y El Universal. In his latest book, El imperio de la salsa. Crónicas Paganas: Historia, entrevistas y semblanzas de salseros famosos, some of the greatest stars of salsa appear: Celia Cruz, Rubén Blades, Héctor Lavoe, Willie Colón and the brothers Palmieri, among many others.
