Alfredo HERRERA FLORES (Perú)

herrera-flores-alfredo Alfredo Herrera Flores (Puno, 1965) He won the Copé de Oro Prize at the 7th Copé Prize Poetry Biennial in 1995; winner of the BCRP’s Julio Ramón Ribeyro Novella Prize in 2023. Previously he has been shortlisted for the Young Poet of Peru Prize in 1990 and the 2017 Pilar Fernández Labrador International Poetry Prize in Spain. He has published thirteen books of poetry, stories and essays. He writes the column El Barco Ebrio and the blog La Silla Prestada. He has held important public positions related to culture and is also a university lecturer. As a journalist he has worked in several countries and published articles and reports in different Peruvian and foreign magazines. His most notable works include Elogio de la nostalgia (Lluvia, 1990), Montaña de jade (Copé, 1995; Hijos de la Lluvia 2021), Mar de la intensidad (Cascahuesos, 2014) Causas naturales (La travesía, 2019), Acerca de la palabra imán (Hijos de la lluvia, 2020) and Formas del fuego, Cusco visto por seis narradoras y narradores cusqueños (Hijos de la lluvia, 2022)
