Pablo d’Ors, decorated for his work in mediation and conflict resolution for a culture of peace, is a priest, writer and secular monk, as well as the founder of the Amigos del Desierto meditators’ network, with almost a thousand followers. His acclaimed Biografía del silencio, a short essay on meditation with more than 300,000 copies sold, has become a landmark in the history of Spanish essays. His latest books are El olvido de sí (2013), a tribute to Charles de Foucauld, explorer of Morocco and hermit in the Sahara; Contra la juventud (2015), selected by Todo Literatura as the best novel of the year; and Biografía de la luz, a re-reading of the figure of Christ in a paradigm of self-knowledge in the West.
