Ciro ALEGRÍA

alegria-ciro Ciro Alegría Varona did his doctorate work in Philosophy at the Berlin Free University. He specializes in Ethics and Political Philosophy and does research work on reciprocity and justice. He is a professor at the Department of Humanities and Dean of the Postgraduate School at the PUCP. During the democratic transition in Peru, he contributed to  civil control of the armed forces and the police and intelligence services. He conducted the investigations of the Armed Forces of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He won the 2018 Copé Prize for his book Adagios. Crítica del presente desde una ciencia melancólica. He is the editor of Manual de principios y problemas éticos and the author of many articles, including: La moral y la ambivalencia de los bienes.
