(Ecuador, 1976) studied philology and writes fiction and non-fiction. In 2018, she published in Spain the short story book Pelea de Gallos (Páginas de Espuma, Madrid, 2018), which was one of the ten books of the year for the Spanish-language edition of The New York Times and one of the year’s top five for Chilango magazine. She is one of the most important Latin American writers to appear in recent years according to the magazine Gatopardo. Pelea de Gallos received the 2018 Joaquín Gallegos Lara Award for Best Short Story Book of the Year in Ecuador. In 2012 she was selected as one of the 100 most influential Latinos in Spain.
