The founder of El Faro, the El Salvador online newspaper that has become well known for its investigations into organized crime, corruption and violence; he also edited the site from its launch in 1998 until 2014. Since then he has worked as a reporter. Dada is a Knight Fellow of the University of Stanford. He has been awarded the Maria Moors Cabot (University of Columbia, New York), received a fellowship from the New York Public Library’s Cullman Center for Writers and has been a guest lecturer at Yale University. He is currently writing a book about the assassination of Archbishop Óscar Romero, carried out in 1980 by death squads in San Salvador.
