Lina MERUANE

Lina Meruane is an award-winning Chilean writer and scholar of Palestinian descent. She has published two collections of short stories and five novels into several languages; her novels Seeing Red (Deep Vellum & Atlantic) and Nervous System (Graywolf & Atlantic) are translated into English. Meruane has also written several non-fiction books on disease and disability, feminism and gender, and the Palestinian diaspora. She has received prestigious awards such as the Premio Iberoamericano de Letras José Donoso (Chile 2023), Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Novel Prize (Mexico 2012), and Anna Seghers Prize (Germany 2011), amongst others, as well as grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, or the DAAD. She serves as Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University´s MFA in Creative Writing in Spanish.
