CARIBEFUNK

caribefunk

Caribefunk is a band that plays Caribbean music with some added North American funk. Originally from Cartagena, Colombia, it features Funkcho Salas and Andrés Mordecai. This band of great performers of Afro-Caribbean music, born in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), has a will to travel. Its new sound, with plenty of groove, is an invitation to dance and a good ambassador of Colombian alternative music. An organic music, without machines, synthesizers, or computers. This band was founded in 2012 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the members seek to take their music to every corner of the planet. They recorded their first album, El Caribefunk, and took it to Colombia for the first time that same year, and later presented it in other South American countries: Argentina, Ecuador and Peru. The following year the band continued to grow, managing to build an audience, and they recorded their second album, El Playaman which was presented in 20 countries over three years. In 2018 they released a new album with a new sound called Tunse. It has deep Afro-Caribbean roots and offers a vibe that makes you dance, whether you want to or not.
