Author of the books Rebeldes: Osadas y transgresoras mujeres colombianas, a historical adventure that tells the lives of Colombian women in the arts and sciences, and Palabras de Los Mayores, a compilation of the biographies of some major figures in Colombian art and knowledge. She is a journalist and film critic and has worked for El Espectador newspaper. Her work as a film critic has led her to investigate the continent’s image-making. Some of her texts can be read in the magazine Cero en conducta. She started work as a journalist with the launch of Semana magazine, back in 1982, and after eight years went to live in Madrid for a year, and later worked for public organizations. For 21 months she was a cultural attaché in France. Since the turn of the millennium she has been a regular contributor to El Tiempo newspaper. She has published two books with Intermedio Editores, Palabras de los Mayores and Rebeldes, as well as an e-book, La Señorita Emilia. She has two daughters and a grandson, is happily retired, watches a lot of films and television series, loves football, particularly the Spanish, German, English, French and Italian leagues. She also loves hill-walking and talking.
