Katixa AGIRRE

Katixa Agirre (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, 1981) has a doctorate in Audio-visual Communication, lectures at the University of the Basque Country and writes in the Basque language. She has published the short story collections Sua falta zaigu (Elkar, 2007) and Habitat (Elkar, 2009). After writing several books for children and young adults, in 2015 she published her first novel, Atertu arte Itxaron (Elkar, 2015), a road novel that won the 111 Akademia award, and which was translated into Spanish as Los Turistas Desganados (Pre-textos, 2017), as well as into Danish and Bulgarian. In October 2018 she published another novel: Amek ez dute (Elkar), which became the Spanish-language Las madres no (TrĂ¡nsito, 2019) and has also been translated into other languages.
