Adela CORTINA

cortina-adela Adela Cortina is Professor of Ethics and Political Philosophy at the University of Valencia and a member of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, being the first women member since the academy’s foundation in 1857. She supervises the inter-university Ethics and Democracy Master’s and doctoral programmes and directs the ÉTNOR Foundation. She has also received honorary doctorates from universities in Spain and abroad, and has sat on the juries for the Prince and Princess of Asturias awards in both the Communication and Humanities, and Social Sciences categories. She received the 2007 Jovellanos Prize for Non-fiction and the 2014 National Non-fiction Prize. Her works include Ética mínima, Ética sin moral, Ética aplicada y democracia radical, Ciudadanos del mundo, Por una ética del consumo, Ética de la razón cordial, Las fronteras de la persona, Justicia cordial, Neuroética y neuropolítica, ¿Para qué sirve realmente la ética? and Aporofobia, these last two books published by Paidós.
